Cigarette Prices will rise again
To finance the Military Junta's new National Sports Authority the retail prices of cigarettes will be increased within the first quarter of this year.
The makers of cigarettes will have to contribute 2% of their sale to the new sports fund.
The officials of the new fund need a healthy salary from the unhealthy product to enjoy a healthy life...
New drinking hours
Thailand's Military Junta changed the laws for alcohol beverages.
Since January 24th, 2015, alcohol beverages can only be sold from 11:00 - 14:00 and from 17:00 - 24:00 every day.
At all other times, alcohol sales are strictly forbidden with the exception of international airport terminals and legally registered entertainment venues which have laws that strictly govern the periods they can operate daily.
Entertainment venues which in the past were allowed to sell alcohol from 21:00 - 02:00 can only do so up to midnight.
This means that in total, night time entertainment venues can only legally sell alcohol for 5 hours (?) every day which in total is less than regular restaurants.
The new regulation does not allow wholesale purchase of alcohol in excess of 10 liters to be made at any time of the days (as in the past).
On February 15th the Prime Minister's Office has issued a ban on alcoholic beverage sales on roads and pedestrian areas. The ban also covers sales and consumption of alcoholic beverages at bus terminals.
Those who violated the ban were subject to imprisonment of up to six months and/or a 10'000 Baht fine.
Director-General of the Department of land Transport Thiraphong Rodprasert said that his department makes sure that drivers of all types of public buses have zero alcohol in their blood.
Those who are found to have more than zero milligram percent while on duty will be immediately replaced and face up to three-month imprisonment and/or a fine of 2'000-10'000 Baht. Their employers will also face a fine of not over 40'000 Baht...
Update February 22nd, 2015:
Bus Terminal Kiosk
The new laws seem to be a joke and made to be ignored by the public, as most other new regulations introduced by Thailand's Military Junta:
The kiosk at Pattaya's Bus Terminal still sells canned Beer Chang, as does the Family Mart just in front of the terminal.

Thailand needs to increase Prices to Levels like in Singapore and Hong Kong, the Bank of Thailand recommends
Don Nakornthab, the Bank of Thailand's director of macroeconomic policy, told the participants of a tourism seminar that Thailand is the top tourist destination in Asean, generating the highest tourism revenue in the region, but still has weak points such as tourist safety, a workforce shortage and insufficient infrastructure.
Thailand's tourism resources may not be sufficient to serve growth in foreign visitor numbers in the near future because its human resources will face a shortage, he says.
Thailand is well known as a value-for-money destination, but we'll have to increase prices to similar levels as those in Singapore or Hong Kong in the future.
The limited natural resources and workforce shortfall would force Thailand to shift its focus to quality markets, Don Nakornthab said.
Don Nakornthab forget to mention that quality markets are in need of quality workforces too.
In the past Thailand (perhaps) was a friendly country.
Today many - if not most - staffs at hotels, restaurants and shops are unfriendly, have no knowledge of English or Chinese, don't know the products they are selling, prefer to play with their smartphones whole the day, but know to ask for a tip.
We recommend Don Nakornthab to visit Cambodia. There the people are still friendly and like foreigners, don't hate them like Thailand's Taxi drivers and the countries officials.
Thailand educates Chinese Tourists
Chinese tourists visiting Thailand during their New Year holiday received tourism manuals in an effort to curb offensive behaviour, officials announced.
The manuals described museum etiquette, warned against using public property as lavatories, and encouraged proper driving behaviour (!).
Although Chinese tourists generate millions of Baht in revenue for some Thai businesses, they have become a frequent target of criticism among Thais, who say they are poorly behaved and insensitive to local customs.

You have to Register your Mobile Phone!
Thailand's Military Junta decided yesterday that all prepaid mobile phone customers must register their personal information with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC).
Customers are required to register within six months, or they will no longer be able to use mobile services.
The Junta also has agreed to let the NBTC track the telephone usage of prepaid customers if they fail to register.

Red is back!
Thanks to Valentine's Day and the Chinese New Year the whole of Thailand shines in RED.
It must be an indescribable threat for the Military Junta's Leader, but he has to accept that RED is not only Thailand's but also South East Asia's most favoured color.
During this time of the year even a part of Bangkok's Elite is wearing RED...
Today not only the people's clothes are RED, Roses and Tableclothes are RED as are all Pedrestian Lights in this city. Even the Signal Lights of all of our Police Cars are blinking in RED.
Guess what's the color of today's sunset: RED!
To bring happiness back to the people and the Leader of the Junta, Sheep Farms agreed to show white Sheeps only to the public during the Chinese New Year.

Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park in Nakhon Thai district of Phitsanulok province has increased the entrance fee for foreign tourists from 200 Baht to 400 Baht.
Park Chief Suwan Panunampa claims the increase is in line with an announcement by Thailand's National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department that admission fees for foreigners should be brought into line at national parks throughout the country.
The entry charge for Thai nationals remains 40 Baht for adults and 20 Baht for children.

How the Junta deals with its opponents
A report from Bangkok Post explains the Military Junta's Brainwash attempts and concludes that the Junta leader himself needs some kind of attitude adjustment.
Junta Leader may stay on a lot longer
Chulalongkorn University political scientist Thitinan Pongsudhirak said during a symposium at the German Embassy that General Prayut Chan-o-cha's government may stay in power longer - much longer than most people expect.
It is clear that the military is trying to turn back the clock on politics, he told the audience.
Thitinan Pongsudhirak is afraid that the interim period of military governance in Thailand could be indefinite.

Misleading News
Yesterday almost all media in Thailand reported that Chonburi Provincial Transnational Crime Suppression Officers and Pattaya's Police from Soi 9 arrested two french men selling fake shirts with the help of the internet from Pattaya to the world.
The reports give the impression that Thailand's Police is eliminating the distribution of copycat products.
It is not accurate.
The Police just found 11 parcels containing 16 shirts bearing brand names including Adidas and Nike in one room and a few similar shirts at a second location.

Amazing Thailand
Bangkok Post reports that Thailand's Metropolitan Police Bureau transfered the chiefs of two police stations in Bangkok and four other senior police officers to inactive posts for allowing prostitution in their jurisdiction areas.
When I told myLady™ that I don't understand why there are still some Policemen working in Pattaya if prostitution is forbidden in this country, she tried to explain the difference between prostitution and not prostitution in Thailand:
If the owner of a business supports the police with monthly payments then his employers are service girls, but if he is stingy and refuse to share his money with our authorities then his employers are prostitutes and he's a pimp.
Handing over some money to the Police is corruption, I answered.
No! myLady™ insisted.
Or do you think I am corrupt if I ask you to transfer 50'000 Baht to my account on Valentine's Day to show me your esteem? she asked me with her irresistible smile...
Update:

The 2in1 Festival happens from February 26th to March 1st, 2015
Be aware, the 2in1 festival is mostly a 3km long market selling all kind of goods on Pattaya's Beach Promenade.
The event is an opportunity for Pattaya City Hall to cash in on its Beach Promenade and to ban Pattaya's famous Coconut Ghosts and the city's wheelchair users from the beach.
Furthermore it opens the opportunity to Thai people to sell fake branded perfumes, watches, caps, underware, socks, shoes, trouses, rucksacks, jackets and all kind of shirts, including the ones Pattaya Police arrested 2 French men on February 21st, 2015 for, selling the very same fake goods on the internet.

During a meeting at the end of March 2012 Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome's Officials from City Hall informed the media they decided that on Wednesday April 11th, 2012 from 09:00. - 16.30, all sectors will have to check their cables.
Unused cable have to be cut off, the officials said.
If a division has more than 10 cables, they must bundle the cables together into one big cable for reason of safety of the people and the traffic, City Hall's new regulation demanded.

The Mystery behind Pattaya's Eyesore
Documents show that the owner of the Waterfront Suites & Residence Pattaya condominium project has purchased a piece of land of about two rai from a local resident. The owner of the project is a group of Israel businessmen known as Bali Hai Co. Ltd.
During that time, Pattaya City Hall was expanding the beach front with landfill as it was constructing a port project.
This beachfront expansion has thus enabled the luxury condo project site to distant itself more than 100 metres from the mean sea level, making it to meet requirement of the environment protection laws. Consequently, the project could be built legally, Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome told the Press.
Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome was the driving force behind the still unfinished Port project and the still not usable Automatic Parking Facility at Bali Hai.
Waterfront
That's probably why Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome immediately after the stop of the construction hold a press conference saying that the project has continually followed correct and fully transparent legal processes and he urged anyone alleging that shortcuts were taken to investigate the various hearings and reports themselves. Allegations that Waterfront Suites was built too close to the sea are incorrect.
Fact is that without realising Pattaya's Port project, the Waterfrond eyesore never had the chance to be built.
The 53-storey Waterfront luxury hotel and condominium project is carried out by the Tulip Group. Its CEO is Kobi Elbaz. He claimed that 70% of the hotel are already booked. Other sources claim that 80 percent of the condominium rooms already have been booked mostly by Thais, European, American and Japanese.
Israeli-born Kobi Elbaz is the chief executive officer of Tulip Group. He is a resident of Thailand for more than a decade. Educated in the US, he served as a former consultant to the new Bangkok international airport project before turning his attention to property. Apart from luxury condominiums Kobi Elbaz loves luxury sports cars.
The so-called Pattaya Watchdog, one of the main groups opposing the construction, said it was rallying for support to petition the military junta (NCPO) and seek its hand to investigate transparency of the project.
Responsible for the construction of the Waterfront Suites & Residence Pattaya is a company called Vorakit Construction Co., Ltd..
On January 27th, 2015, three Cambodian workers were injured when the third floor of a 287-room hotel being built by Vorakit Construction Co., Ltd. on Soi Phettrakun behind North Pattaya's Big C Shopping Center collapsed.

Thailand's Taxi Mafia
When the Military took over Thailand one of their first action was the announcement to crackdown on Suvarnabhumi's Taxi Mafia.
On June 19th, 2014, Thailand's media reported that the Military Junta has ordered a crackdown on mafia-controlled taxi services at Suvarnabhumi airport.
During the last few months the Junta learned that the crackdown is not an easy task. The Junta lost the war against Suvarnabhumi's Taxi Mafia. Videos on youtube and other media showed that Thailand's Taxi Mafia is still exploiting it's passengers.
We recommend:
Ignore Taxi drivers at all airports in Thailand. Use the bus services provided at almost all airports. At Suvarnibhumi Airport you can also use the Skytrain, known as Suvarnabhumi Airport City Line, to reach Bangkok.

Healthy Product
'Healthy' Malt Drinks...
A few months ago Dutch Mill* (also known as Dairy Plus or Pro Food Co., Ltd.) launched a product called DMalt (in English). In Thai D is an abbreviation for dee (Thai for good).
The products main attributes are H-16, Calx2 and Choline.
Most Thai product websites do not give any usefull information. Flashing colors and a few - mostly stupid - advertising slogans are usually all you can get. Dmalt's website isn't an exception.
Therefore we tried to get some more information:
Calx2 refers to Calcium. The x2 seems to suggest that it contains a lot of it, perhaps two times as much as its competitors (or even 2 times as much as your body needs?).
Hi-16 seems to refer to Malt. Malt containes a combination of 16 Vitamines and Minerals.
As the information mentioned above prove, this product - as well as similar ones from its competitors - contains mostly sugar.
Mixed with milk, it's probably useless. As we explained last month, humans older than 5 years can't digest milk anymore...

PS: On July 28th Officials from City Hall inspected the area. They discovered that people drive their vehicles to fast in this small Soi and (as documented on this website since June 2014) are parking cars and motorcycles on the wheelchair way. Pattaya's Officials urge the people not to be selfish...
And that's the result!
And that's the result of City Hall's 3 million Baht investment...
Update: On October 21st Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Aegasing paid a visit to the area and saw himself that irresponsible people are obstructing the stretch. Therefore the lovely Deputy Mayor arranged a meeting for October 24th to discuss the matter...

Thailand's Military Junta has authorised internet providers in Thailand to shut down any websites with content that threatens the national security or violates Section 112 (also known as lese majeste) "in 30 seconds" without seeking approval from any authority.
The move is seen in response to a lack of cooperation by foreign media companies in removing content the Thai government finds offensive. For example, 2014 Google did not remove any content requested by Thailand's Military Junta.

The Kunplomes
Coup Leader
Military Junta Leader and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha pushed back general election promised for late 2015, saying that election must come with a new constitution and eleven reform areas. Therefore he can stretch election into 2016 or 2017...
The Dictator and his wife have declared a joint worth of 128 million Baht in assets and 654'745 Baht in debt. He said he could not remember the details, but all of the items could be examined and verified. I can justify my personal wealth, he claims.
On May 9th, 2013, the General sold nine plots of land totalling 50 rai located in Bangkok's Bang Bon district to 69 Property Co Ltd. The company has a British Virgin Islands address, was registered just 7 days before the deal and belongs to Thailand's liquor and property billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi.
When Thaksin Shinawatra sold his AIS to Temasek Holdings, a company owned by the Government of Singapore, the very same Bangkok Elite called the deal a foulplay...
Selling assets to a foreign company is a legal way for Thai citizens to avoid paying taxes, but it seems it is a big difference if a member of Bangkok's Elite does the deal or a newcomer from Chiang Mai.
The Junta Leader ordered the media not publishing news about Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Dictator Prayuth Chan-ocha claims that Thaksin Shinawatra violated Thailand's law.
Be aware of the NSA
Be aware of the NSA
The National Security Agency (NSA) has built a network that can access as much as 75% of all U.S. Web traffic. With the help of Great Britain's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), they control whole of Europe too.
SIM Cards hacked
The Criminals from The National Security Agency (NSA) and Great Britain's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) hacked into the internal computer network of the largest manufacturer of SIM cards to get the encryption keys used to protect the privacy of cellphone communications across the globe.

The Criminals from the National Security Agency (NSA) are pressed for a compromise which allows intelligence services to snoop on encrypted devices to combat terrorism, within a legal framework (HAHAHA..) to protect user rights.
NSA chief Admiral Michael Rogers declined to comment on the latest reports that the NSA implanted spyware on commercially made hard drives, and that it worked with British intelligence to hack into the world's biggest maker of SIM cards to be able to access mobile communications.

Global Warming
Global Warming:
It's a Myth!
Nature isn't predictable
1968 scientists predicted the comeback of the Ice-Time. What they will tell you tomorrow?
We do not ignore 'Climat Change', but we know that this planet faces 'Climate Changes' since millions of years - some even a lot more dramatic than today and without the help of humans.
Our planet has no constant. Each year, the continents move by 4 cm.
Todays 'Climat Change' is nothing else than a very lucrative business idea.
The United Nations Environment Programme (Unep) claims:
Global Warming could cost almost three times as much as thought...
The CO2 emissions tax doesn't reduce any CO2 emission, its just another way to extort money from the taxpayers.
The United Nations as well as the European Union are some of the world's most useless organisations.
Milk the Cow before somebody else does it, that's their motto!
Avoid Electric Vehicles
Electric Vehicles use batteries and batteries are not only a threat to our planet during manufacturing, the 'Recycling' of batteries is still an unsolved problem in most countries.
Don't use Solar Cells
Solar Cells are a threat to our planet:
The higher the efficiency of a Solar Cell the more Cadmium it contains.
Cadmium is banned from most products in almost all countries, but it can be used without restrictions in Solar Cells. Who controls the 'Recycling' of Solar Cells?

Sony launches Entry-level Smartphones
Sony Mobile Communications is launching a few new entry-level and mid-range smartphones in 2015.
The phones will be produced by Foxconn/FIH Mobile, Compal Electronics and Arima Communications and will be built using handset solutions from Taiwan's MediaTek.
Most of Sony's new smartphones are developed by the manufactures, eg. by Foxconn/FIH Mobile, Compal Electronics and Arima Communications using circuits recommended by MediaTek.
That's the way it works today with most electronics and household products.
Your TV
is Watching You!
Samsung is warning the users of its TVs that if they are using Samsung Smart TV's Voice Activation Feature the TV set not only is transmitting the commands to third parties but every single word spoken in the room.
Thanks to Samsung NSA and GCHQ as well as Thailand's Military can now easily monitor your home without installing bugs...
Update: Be aware that all products from all brands using some kind of a Voice Activation Feature face the same problem.
Weak Demand for Smartphones
In view of weak demand for smartphones in the first quarter of 2015 Acer, Asustek Computer, Coolpad, Huawei Device, Lenovo, Xiaomi Technology and ZTE try to reduce component costs.
Dual core smartphones will be replaced by Quad core handsets without increase in price.
4K is coming
During the 2nd half of this year premium smartphones with 4K displays will hit the market.
A High Definition Display with 1080p resolution is composed of two million pixels (1920x1080), while a 4K Display (also known as Ultra High Definition) has over eight million pixels (3840x2160).
Therefore, 4K has around four times more resolution than 1080p and produces a clearer picture.

Power semiconductors currently account for some 20 percent of a high-tech vehicle's total electrical losses.
