Pattaya City Hall's Website dead?
Since June 26th the Website from Pattaya City Hall can't be reached anymore.
On the very same day, June 26th, Thailand's Dictator, Junta Leader and Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha has used Section 44 emergency powers to transfer about 70 officials to inactive posts for possible corruption.
We do not know yet if there is a link between the two incidents.
No real Democracy for Myanmar
Myanmar's 'Parliament' has voted to keep the military veto.
In the years to come Myanmar's parliament will be dominated by the country's Army and its former Generals - same procedure as in Thailand.

Thailand on the Brink of Collapse?
Yesterday Thailand's Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha, who is serving as both Junta Chairman and Prime Minister, lashed out at the press again, accusing reporters of being paid to criticize his government, and warned that the country is on the brink of collapse.
Please click to read the Transcript of his Tirade.
It already starts in Thailand's 'education' system: Thailand's students were told that asking questions is not opportune in this country.

Bangkok on the Way to the Hell?
Sujarit Khoonthanakulwong claims that Bangkok is sinking an average 10mm per year.
According to the head of Chulalongkorn University's water resources engineering department Groundwater extraction, the natural movements of the earth's crust and construction of high-rise buildings were factors that caused Bangkok to sink.
He claims that Ramkhamhaeng Road has the highest rate of subsidence, 20mm per year, followed by Lat Krabang with 10mm. Therefore penalties must be increased for illegal use of groundwater, he recommends.
The Chulalongkorn University's Aquatic Resources Research Institute together with Pattaya's Burapha University also recommended Pattaya's 468 Million Baht Beach Restoration...
Air Asia
Pattaya - Kuala Lumpur
Air Asia will start flying from Pattaya International U-Tapao Military Airport to Kuala Lumpur on July 15th, 2015 and from Kuala Lumpur to Pattaya on July 16th. The airline will operate four weekly flights on this route.
When searching for flights on Air Asia you need to type in Pattaya or UTP for U-Tapao Airport!
IATA is shrinking Cabin Luggage
IATA, an association of the world's big airlines, has recommended to shrink the size of carry-ons.
The new guidelines state that cabin bags should have dimensions of 55cm x 35cm x 19cm only.
That is a volume of 36,575 cubic centimetres or up to 40% less than a current bag.
The new guidelines are not mandatory, but a few large airlines, including Lufthansa and Emirates, already announced to comply with the new standards.
The new smaller cabin bags will may put an end of fighting for room in the overhead storage, the IATA claims.
Happy Travelling!

Thailand's Dictator doesn't tolerate Protests
General Prayuth Chan-ocha, who is serving as both Junta Chairman and Prime Minister, reminded the public in a speech on June 9th, 2015, that protests will not be tolerated under his rule.
Have you forgotten how this government came to power? And how much power we have? Is it because I have been too kind? Is that why there have been demands to give back freedom? he asked the audience and added I am not democracy. We are walking toward democracy. Don't mix them up together. They are totally different issues.

Bangkok flooded
Bangkok flooded
Bangkok flooded
Just hours after Thailand's Meteorological Department told the nation that this year's rainy season will be delayed by a few weeks and will start during July only, a storm covered Bangkok's streets with up to 25 cm water and removed metal roofs in the capital.
About 24 hours after the first storm a second one flooded major streets in the capital on May 9th at about 01:00.
The Meteorological Department blamed monsoons for the traffic disaster and said that they are stronger than usual...
Is this the proof that Thailand's weather forecast is made by the country's voyeurs and not by professionals?
Bangkok Posts asks: Why not let somebody from outside help out, somebody with the right experience?
Our answer: Because 'people from outside' do not (know to) bribe and Thais believe they will lose their face if they have to ask somebody for help.

Boycott Norway!
Norway's women footballers are trashing Thailand's beautiful ladies 4:0 in a World Cup Game organized by the battled FIFA in Ottawa!
Unconfirmed rumors tell that Thailand's Military Junta is considering to ban tourists from Norway to enter the country and to block every website that is publishing the result.
No one has the right to defeat Thailand as long as the country is under the protective dictatorship of Thailand's Military, our source claims...
During June 2014 Norway's Telenor told the country the truth about the Junta's blocking of Facebook in Thailand.
Shisha ban in Pattaya
A single shisha session is the same as smoking 200 cigarettes
Shisha ban in Pattaya
A letter from the Banglamung District Licensing Unit dated May 29th told bar owners in the City that Banglamung District Officials will now be enforcing the ban on the sale and use of Shisha.
Any Police Officers who offer protection to bar owners who sell Shisha in exchange for money must be reported to the Licensing Unit.
The decision of the Banglamung District Licensing Unit is welcomed: According to research carried out by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the volume of smoke inhaled in an hour-long shisha session is estimated to be the equivalent of smoking between 100 and 200 cigarettes.

U-Tapao goes Bangkok
Bangkok Post reports that Sattahip's Navy commander-in-chief Kraisorn Jansuwanit signed a memorandum of cooperation with Thailand's Transport Minister Prajin Juntong. It sets conditions to have the Navy's U-Tapao (Pattaya International) Airport actively serve both security operations and commercial flights from June 1st, 2016.
It is at least the 3rd annoucement of the Navy during the last 10 years or so to upgrade U-Tapao's airport for commercial use.
The memorandum mentioned above tells that the Navy will spend 200 million Baht on the new terminal and seek 800 million Baht from the government to pay for the relevant facilities.
On November 25th 2010 Tropical Beach reported that U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport has gained a budget of 900 million Baht to construct a new passenger terminal, parking areas and install a new traffic radar system...

Shrinking Brains
Thailand's Public Health Minister Rajata Rajatanavin told the press that in a survey of Thai children's IQ in 2014, the average score for students at Prathom 1 (Grade 1) level nationwide was 93.1, falling from the average score of 94 in the previous survey in 2011.
If Thailand's Ministry of Education can't stop the trend, Thailand's students will reach easily the IQ of Thailand's television producers.
Police News
Lax and tardy Police
Thailand's National Police Chief Pol Gen Somyot Pumpunmuang signed an order to move eleven top Nakhon Pathom police officers to inactive posts at the Royal Thai Police Office's operations centre.
The transfer included Pol Col Pumin Pumpanmuang, Pol Gen Somyot's younger brother and commander of Thailand's Crime Suppression Sub-Division 5.
The transfer was the aftermath of several violent incidents in Nakhon Pathom province.
Police were both lax and tardy in their 'work', Pol Gen Somyot claimed.
Nevertheless, an inactive post doesn't cut the salary...

Landfill Project stalled
It seems that City Hall stalled the landfill project until the Pattaya's flood water problems are solved.
We informed our readers a few times that the new Beach Promenade is a faulty design and that the announced 430-million Baht refilling of Pattaya Beach would be a gigantic waste of money.
Pattaya City Hall has to accept that they chose the wrong people. It's time to work with real professionals from Belgium and/or the Nederlands and to abandon the ties with 'babbling experts' from Thai 'Universities'.
Prickly Heat
A Widespread Skin Disease
A friendly Pharmacist brought to our attention that this year many people, locals as well as foreigners, are affected by a skin disease known as Heat Rash, Prickly Heat or Miliaria.
Prickly Heat or Miliaria is a common skin disease in the tropics and during the summer season in hot and humid conditions.
The mildest form of Heat Rash, known as Miliaria Crystallina, affects the sweat ducts in the top layer of skin. This form is marked by clear, fluid-filled blisters and bumps (papules) that break easily.
A type that occurs deeper in the skin. known as Miliaria Rubra, is sometimes called Prickly Heat. Signs and symptoms include red bumps and itching or prickling in the affected area.
How to Cure Miliaria
Miliaria usually heals by cooling the skin and avoiding exposure to the heat that caused it.
Wear loose cotton clothing or clothing that has breathable fabric.
Using an antibacterial soap or antiseptic wash may help to keep the number of germs (bacteria) on your skin down. We recommend Asepso soap. It contains an antibacterial agent and is easily available in Thailand.
A Calamine Lotion may cool and soothe the skin. If the lotion shows a drying effect please use a moisturising cream afterwards. A Calamine Lotion is available in Thailand as Calamine LotionLP. It is manufactured by Leopard Medical Brand Co. Ltd. and is on stock at most pharmacies integrated into BigC and Tesco/Lotus Supermarkets.
A steroid cream may also soothe the irritation. In Thailand pharmacies usually recommend a Mometasone Furoate based cream (Elocom™, Elomet™ or one of their derivatives).
Don't trust the U.S. Food and Drug Administration:
In a 1992 press release, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that no proof had been submitted showing calamine to be safe for use or effective.
In a September 2, 2008 document, the very same U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommended applying topical OTC skin protectants, such as calamine, to relieve the itch.
During decades the U.S. Government and its Food and Drug Administration supported the shitty claims made by Pfizer and others about Cholesterol. The limiting of cholesterol was never supported by science, only by the involved industries.
It's just another proof that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration relies mainly on information provided by the industries and not by independent scientists.

On Sunday evening, May 31st, 2015, 82 Court Officials had to be saved from a sinking Pattaya Island Ferry.
On Monday, June 1st, 2015 at about 13:30, 102 Chinese Tourists had to be saved from a burning Pattaya Island Ferry.
On November 3rd, 2013, we had to report from a deadly Ferry Disaster near Koh Larn.
The boat involved in the May 31st disaster is from the very same company that seven Chinese tourists ripped to death on November 3rd, 2013.
In our News Flash from August 2014 we told our readers that Koh Larn Travel Ltd. had to suspend the transportation services because the company's boats are unsafe. We also warned that Larn Travel Ltd. resumed its business as Phech Thada Travel Co. Ltd. with the very same unsafe boats...

Nothing but Empty Promises
On March 31st, 2015, Ronagit Akasing, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, announced that the city once again will try to control taxis and improve traffic flow along Pattaya Beach.
Large fines have been promised for drivers of any vehicle, including the Baht Buses, should they be found to be parked illegally.
Pattaya Traffic Police will spearhead enforcement of the new scheme and will be overseen by the Thai Army to ensure it is a long term scheme and not one which lasts only days or weeks, as has happened in the past, the Deputy of Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome warned.

And the Moral of the Story?
You never can trust an announcement from Pattaya's City Hall!
It seems the (according to Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome not existing) Mafia has the say in Pattaya and not the Resort's City Hall.
Update (June 26th, 2015):
Mr. Ronnakit Aekasing, a Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, told the press that City Hall decided to disallow busses from tour operators to drive along Pattaya Beach Road. Big trucks with more than 6 wheels are banned from Beach Road too, he added.
Officials also have to stop the double parking of busses because it causes traffic congestion, Mr. Ronnakit said. Furthermore Tourist busses can only pick up passengers from South Pattaya's Bali Hai Pier.
He ordered the Marine Department to obey the rules.

Wheelchair Path still blocked!
On Soi Phaniatchang, also known as Soi Yume or Soi Carrefour, City Hall spent 3 million Baht for a wheelchair path. Pattaya's large-hearted road users are happy to block the path with their vehicles and say thank you for the new parking lane.
It seems that nobody takes care of the about 850 students from the Soi's Redemptorist Vocational School - not even our lazy police. They close the eyes.
PS: On July 28th Officials from City Hall inspected the area. They discovered that people drive their vehicles to fast in this small Soi and (as documented on this website since June 2014) are parking cars and motorcycles on the wheelchair way. Pattaya's Officials urge the people not to be selfish...
Update: On October 21st Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Aegasing paid a visit to the area and saw himself that irresponsible people are obstructing the stretch.
Therefore the lovely Deputy Mayor arranged a meeting for October 24th to discuss the matter...
Nothing than empty words from Pattaya's Officials!
Obviously the 3 million Baht weren't spend to help the Handicapped,
but to fill up someone's pocket...
Still Overcharging
Under pressure from Thailand's Military Junta Chonburi enacted a new regulation. It requires that a ride of five kilometers or less on a motorcycle taxi costs no more than 20 Baht. The order also tells that motorcycle taxi boothes have to publish the fares.
Pattaya's taxi drivers ignore the regulation and City Officials and and our lazy Police do not enforce the transportation law.
On June 26th, 2014, the NCPO ordered to take control of the transportation services in Pattaya and during July 2014 we reported that Capt. Sittichai Chamsawat of the 14th Military Circle in Chonburi announced that motorbike taxis will have to adhere to the existing, but currently ignored, Land Transport Department fare regulations.
As usually in Pattaya, both actions just lasted a few days only...
Most boothes do not display the fares as ordered or show an empty banner only.
For the 1.5km ride to Pattaya's Bus Terminal I still have to pay 40 Baht. For the (shorter) 1km ride back to my home the drivers are asking 50 to 60 Baht...
Just another knock down for General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his gabby Military Junta.

If a division has more than 10 cables, they must bundle the cables together into one big cable for reason of safety of the people and the traffic, the new regulation said.

Documents released by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden show that New Zealand's Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) spies on Vietnam, China, India, Pakistan, South American nations and a range of other countries to help fill gaps in worldwide surveillance operations by the United States National Security Agency (NSA).

Germany's Bundes Nachrichten Dienst (BND) supported the Criminals from NSA
Germnany's Bundes Nachrichten Dienst (BND) supported the Criminals from NSA during many years and spied European politicians and corporations for the NSA Gangsters.

NSA mass phone surveillance revealed by Edward Snowden ruled illegal
The US court of appeals has ruled that the bulk collection of telephone metadata is unlawful.
Let's hope this ruling opens the door to 'free' Edward Snowden and to bring the Gangsters from NSA behind bars.

SIM Cards hacked
The Criminals from The National Security Agency (NSA) and Great Britain's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) hacked into the internal computer network of the largest manufacturer of SIM cards to get the encryption keys used to protect the privacy of cellphone communications across the globe.

NSA chief Admiral Michael Rogers declined to comment on the latest reports that the NSA implanted spyware on commercially made hard drives, and that it worked with British intelligence to hack into the world's biggest maker of SIM cards to be able to access mobile communications.
Disolve the EU!
Disolve the European Union! It's nothing else than a gigantic Mafia Organisation wasting the Taxpayers money.
Disolve the EU!
The bureaucrats in the European Union are supporting Monsanto, Dupont, Syngenta, Bayer Crop Science and KWS and endanger with their regulations the biodiversity of our foods, plants and animals.
Stop these idiots, before it's too late!
Disolve the
European Union!
We tell it since many years but now Neil Woodford, one of the UK's most successful fund managers, claims that the eurozone is not viable in its current form.
The Eurozone is fundamentally flawed, he says.
Global Warming
Global Warming:
It's a Myth!
Nature isn't predictable
1968 scientists predicted the comeback of the Ice-Time. What they will tell you tomorrow?
We do not ignore 'Climat Change', but we know that this planet faces 'Climate Changes' since millions of years - some even a lot more dramatic than today and without the help of humans.
Todays 'Climat Change' is nothing else than a very lucrative business idea.
The United Nations Environment Programme (Unep) claims:
Global Warming could cost almost three times as much as thought...
The CO2 emissions tax doesn't reduce any CO2 emission, its just another way to extort money from the taxpayers.
The United Nations as well as the European Union are some of the world's most useless organisations.
Milk the Cow before somebody else does it, that's their motto!
Avoid Electric Vehicles
Electric Vehicles use batteries and batteries are not only a threat to our planet during manufacturing, the 'Recycling' of batteries is still an unsolved problem in most countries.
Don't use Solar Cells
Nature destroyed by solar cells

Solar Cells are a threat to our planet:
The higher the efficiency of a Solar Cell the more Cadmium it contains.
Cadmium is banned from most products in almost all countries, but it can be used without restrictions in Solar Cells. Who controls the 'Recycling' of Solar Cells?
No Nuke Please!
Never forget Chernobyl, Hiroshima, Nagasaki & Fukushima!
Never use a technology you do not master 100%!
Never forget:
It's not your Face and not your Body that makes you sexy.
It's your MONEY!
Be aware of Phone Scams
NightWalker and his team are warning readers of this site since many years about phone scams.
Smartphones are much more vulnerable to scams than your computer(s).
Please read the latest reports published by BBC News and the Banks in the UK.
Please keep in mind that the gangsters are not only working in the UK but all over the world, including Thailand.
Phone Tracking
The American Harris Corporation developped a controversial cellular phone surveillance device called Stingray, a sophisticated portable spy device able to track cell phone signals inside vehicles, homes and insulated buildings.
It is now used worldwide by all kind of government agencies (and criminals) to track cell phone users warrantless.
Remember: There is absolutely no security with smartphones!
Shitty Self-Driving Cars
Self-Driving Cars are using cameras, radar, sonar and LiDAR (light detection and ranging) sensor technologies to navigate a car through the traffic to your destination.
All these devices are very vulnerable to hacker strikes.
Many of today's software for Self-Driving Cars are cloud-based, adding an additional securtity problem.
Criminals can easily build a simple device for a few dollars to drive your car into their compound - and there is no way to stop the attack.
Seen at Computex
The average ex-factory quote for a 5-inch entry-level smartphone from China manufacturers is approaching US$35.
The ex-factory price for an 8-inch entry-level tablet using an Intel processor and Windows operating system is at about US$50.
If a vendor orders 5'000+ 7-inch entry-level tablets equipped with a 3G module, MediaTek's dual-core chip solution, 4GB storage, a 2'000mAh battery and 3-megapixel front- and back-end cameras he can get them for US$30-35/pcs.
5-inch entry-level smartphones with Android 4.4 OS, a quad-core processor, and 4GB storage have an ex-factory quote of about US$35.
Traditional folding- and candybar-type feature phones supporting GSM and GPRS (but not 3G and LTE networks) have ex-factory prices as low as US$10.
It seems that products made by China manufacturers of mobile devices are now a lot more durable than before...
Computex 2015 opened its doors in Tapei (Taiwan) from June 2nd until June 6th, 2015.
The Mystery of Holes
After a century of research, Swiss scientists cracked the mystery of the holes in Swiss Emmental cheese.
The Experts from Agroscope, a state centre for agricultural research, told the marveling pressmen (and women) the phenomenon was caused by tiny bits of hay present in the milk and not by bacteria.
In 1912 American Chemist William Clark published a detailed study and came to the conclusion that it was caused by carbon dioxide released by bacteria present in the milk.
Swiss citizens knew since centuries that they can't trust American Scientists, Researchers and Politicians.
NightWalker hopes that with more advanced technologies the eyes in his most prefered cheese will completely disappear.
He simply don't like to invest his hard earned money in empty holes...
The World's largest Picture
The World's largest Picture
It took Italian Photographer Phillip Biengini and his team two weeks at an altitude of 3'500 meters to capture over 70'000 pictures and two months of postproduction to create the worlds largest picture.
The result is an amazing 365-megapixel image with a 46 Terabyte file size from Mont Blanc.

Milking Foreigners!
Thailand's National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department ordered that admission fees for foreigners at national parks throughout the country have to be 400 Baht.

To cover the inequity the local's prices are printed in Thai script only.
