Thailand's Internet:
NOT FREE!
In its latest report Freedom House, a U.S.-based NGO that monitors democracy and free expression around the world, claims that Thailand's internet is not free due to increased suppression under Thailand's military rule.
More Thai internet users were harassed and arrested during the coverage period than ever before in the wake of the 2014 coup, the Freedom House Report says.

F5 Cyber Army
Successful Cyber War
On Friday night Thailand's F5CyberArmy Online Activists sucessfully attacked the Government House and Labour Ministry websites.
To proof that Information and Communication Technology Minister Uttama Savanayana did lie whole the nation when he claimed on Friday that the state agency's data were intact and that the hackers did not get their hands on real information, the F5CyberArmy published some information from the hacked websites...

The Babblers from Pattaya City Hall
Since more than two years the Babblers from Pattaya City Hall promise that Pattaya Jet Ski operators are required to carry insurance in order to end the extortion and intimidation of tourists in this sordid World Class Beach Resort.
Today Pattaya Mail reports that on October 12th a meeting was called by Boonchai Tansamai, an officer with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports' Chonburi office, to end Pattaya's Jet Ski problem.
Pigs might fly over Pattaya before this sordid World Class Beach Resort will solve the Jet Ski Problem!
Rewritten Thai History
In response to Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha's instruction to promote nationalism and patriotism among Thai citizens and students Thailand's Culture Ministry launched an all new textbook called "The Thai History".
The 208-page book is available in Thai or English and costs 130 Baht/each.
CyberWar starts today
Online activists announced they will launch attacks against Thailand's Government beginning Thursday, October 22nd, after Thailand's Dictator said the project to route all internet traffic through a single point of control is still alive.
For more information please read the report published by KhaoSud english.
Why the Military Junta doesn't like ThaiHealth
Bangkok Post published an interesting eye-opener explaining why General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his Military Junta attack the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) and Thai PBS public broadcasting service.
Travelling Ghosts?
It was announced recently that this year Pattaya will miss at least 1 million visitors. Many Hotels reduce their personnel or introduced short-time working hours. Other destinations in this country report the very same story.
Nevertheless, TCT (Tourism Council of Thailand), not to be mix up with TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand), projects foreign tourist arrivals will reach 30.3 million this year, a growing rate of 22%!
According to TCT Tourism revenue from foreign tourists is expected to surge 21%!
Where all that tourists go and where they spend the money?
For sure not in Pattaya! Walk around the City and enjoy all that closed down shops!
For more information please read Bangkok Post.
Furthermore Central Pattana Plc (CPN), Central Group's retail and property developer and the owner of CentralFestival, announced that it is refreshing its CentralFestival brand to respond to the growing trend of lifestyle shopping centres in urban areas. In other words, CentralFestival has to attract local customers and not travellers.
A walk through CentralFestival Pattaya opens your eyes: Almost every floor has at least on shop closed. The shopping center is badly missing the tourists.
CentralFestival announced to change its previous format not only in Pattaya but also in Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Phuket and on Koh Samui.
F5 Cyber Army

No Reconciliation in Thailand:
The Military Junta is chasing Shinawatra Clan
Suthep Thaugsuban
Obviously Thailand's Military Junta is the stooge of Bangkok's Elite and Suthep Thaugsuban.
On December 11th, 2013, Suthep Thaugsuban announced that people in the Shinawatra family won't find any happiness in their lives (anymore).
On February 25th, 2014, Suthep Thaugsuban announced that he would force all businesses owned by Thaksin Shinawatra and his family into bankruptcy.
On April 6th, 2014, Suthep Thaugsuban claimed that once we become the sovereign, we'll seize the assets of the Shinawatra family members.

The Man with the two Faces
General Prayuth Chan-ocha told the UN on September 29th, 2015, that Thailand is undertaking comprehensive reforms on several fronts to make our country stronger and better in the hope that we will achieve security, prosperity, sustainability and pave the way toward resilient democracy.
> Bangkok Post
On October 11th General Prayuth Chan-ocha told his Charter Writer to avoid relying solely on the principles of democracy.
> Bangkok Post
During his speak on September 28th at the UN General Assembly in New York he praised Thailand's universal healthcare scheme as a key factor in reducing inequality in the country.
> Bangkok Post
But in July 2015 the very same General Prayuth Chan-ocha branded the universal healthcare scheme, which benefits about 47 million people, a costly populist policy. The scheme will bankrupt a lot of hospitals in the next few years, Thailand's Camelion claimed.
> Bangkok Post
On October 1st General Prayuth Chan-ocha denied ordering a single gateway launch.
>Bangkok Post
But on September 4th General Prayuth Chan-ocha himself ordered the ICT Ministry and related agencies to set up the single gateway urgently.
>Thailand's Public Relations Department

>Bangkok Post
The Scrounger
The promotion of a single internet gateway was Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha's bid to curb inappropriate content for children, Secretary-general Ampon Kittiampon said.
A few day before Thailand's lovely Dictator presented a few other reasons to justify a single gateway.
For more information please read Internet Protests, Digital vision just a blur and Gateway is to protect kids.
Update (October 10th):
In strong words Thailand's Dictator today attacked the previous government and Thaksin Shinawatra. He also claimed that there is no elite, middle class or low class in Thailand.
At the time of writing it is not clear what prompted the release of this statement.
It only shows that dictators are still unpredictable. It seems they are living in their very own world.
Please click to read the report published by Bangkok Post.
On September 24th the European Union warned Thailand in a statement to respect basic rights and claimed that the situation concerning basic freedom rights has been worsening since General Prayuth Chan-ocha's 2014 coup.
Yesterday Thailand's Military Junta claimed that the European Parliament's negative resolution reflected its inaccurate understanding of the situation and developments in Thailand...
The Army is Lying
US commanders altered the story of a airstrike on a hospital in Afghanistan for fourth time in four days, The Guardian reports.
It's the proof you can't trust any announcement from any military person, not from the US and not from Switzerland or any other nation in this world.
The Truth about Tourism in Pattaya
According to Thailand's Military Junta Tourists are flooding Thailand.
The contrary seems to be true: Pattaya's big hotel chains are reducing their workforces and/or the working hours of their employees. The wages would be cut accordingly adding another threat to Thailand's sluggish economy.
According to the latest report from the World Bank there is no light at the end of tunnel for the Thai economy.

Dual Pricing at Emerald Pool Krabi
Bangkok Post reports that Emerald Pool in Krabi charge 20 Baht for Thais but 200 Baht for Foreigners.
If a Thai looks like a Farang, he has to pay 200 Baht too!
We recommend since many years to avoid all tourist spots in Thailand charging different prices for locals and foreigners.
Freedom of Expression?
Sakda Sae Iew, better known under his nickname Sia, is one of Thailand's best-known political cartoonist.
On October 4th, Thailand's National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) invited him to report to the office of the assistant army chief.
The Military Junta already invited the cartoonist to meet the NCPO about two weeks after the May 22nd, 2014 coup for talks about reconciliation.
In the past Thailand's NCPO has summoned a number of politicians and journalists for a session to adjust their political attitudes.
Mr Sakda told the press that he cared the most about his colleagues at Thai Rath's editorial department and apologised them for any trouble he might have caused.
In a speech to world leaders gathered at the United Nations last week, Thailand's Dictator highlighted his country's commitment to protect human rights in Thailand. He also said that Thailand deserves a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council because of its role in UN missions.
TiT, this is Thailand.

In civilized countries metal grids on roads and paths must be designed such that neither adults nor children can get injured. The same is true for sidewalks.

Pattaya's war on crime
Pattaya declares war on crime....
Pattaya is a known haven of transnational crime syndicates where sex, drugs and money are fluid commodities.
A few days ago Pattaya City Officials as well as policemen and soldiers visited the City's world famous Walking Street to demand Go-Go bars, vendors, nightclubs and other businesses to stop violating city regulations.
Don't use public space and keep the footpath clear, they told the people and announced that the local authorities will convene a meeting to determine how to punish those refusing to cooperate.
As usual, Pattaya's Officials invited the media to attend their show - announced as Pattaya's war on crime.
The Jet Ski Lie
We suppose that the announcement has about the same status as Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome's promise to the world (during an interview with Bangkok Post on March 26th, 2015) that he believes that the jet ski scam will be solved within the next two months. Today we know that nothing has changed.

New Regulations for Pattaya's Motorbike Taxi Drivers?
Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome hands out a jacket to a motorbike taxi driver
During a recent meeting Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome as well as some officials from Banglamung district offices and Thailand's Military handed out Pattaya's new and official jackets to motorbike taxi drivers.
According to the administration the number of drivers is increasing every year.
There are now 924 registered taxi motorbikes and 11'455 drivers, we were told. 478 of them got the new jackets.
Pattaya City Hall introduced a policy for formal registration, correct dress and gear, and regulations to prevent queue jumping and overcharging.
The new vests and ID cards would ensure that drivers were licensed and met minimum standards, the Officials claim. They also said that drivers would be required to follow government-set rates for transport, which are generally half the going rate charged by most drivers.
Pattaya's new Mafia-free (?) drivers are wearing orange jackets and are driving on Motorbikes with a yellow plate.
Update (October 3rd, 2015):
Motorbike Taxi Drivers protest at Pattaya City Hall, Pattaya Daily News reports.
Edison's Bulb
Edison's Bulb:
Still the best choice.
Governments in many countries around the world banned the sale of Edison's good old bulb.
To save energy they promote the use of fluorescent lamp based tubes and bulbs or the new LED lamps.
Fact is that this new lamps save a lot of energy.
But fact is too that this new light-spenders are still a threat to our health and our environment.
Fluorescent based lamps may interfere with mammalian circadian rhythms due to its suppressing effect on melatonin production.
Furthermore, some fluorescent and LED lamps emit ultraviolet radiation.
Ultraviolet lights, also emitted by LED displays used in smartphones, TV sets and computer monitors, are damaging our eyes and are generating sleep disorders.
New technologies are not always a blessing for mankind.

Wheelchair Path still blocked!
On Soi Phaniatchang, also known as Soi Yume or Soi Carrefour, City Hall spent 3 million Baht for a wheelchair path. Pattaya's large-hearted road users are happy to block the path with their vehicles and say thank you for the new parking lane.
It seems that nobody takes care of the about 850 students from the Soi's Redemptorist Vocational School - not even our lazy police. They close the eyes.
PS: On October 28th Officials from City Hall inspected the area. They discovered that people drive their vehicles to fast in this small Soi and (as documented on this website since October 2014) are parking cars and motorcycles on the wheelchair way. Pattaya's Officials urge the people not to be selfish...
Update: On October 21st Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Aegasing paid a visit to the area and saw himself that irresponsible people are obstructing the stretch.
Therefore the lovely Deputy Mayor arranged a meeting for October 24th to discuss the matter...

Coup Leader
Military Junta Leader and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha pushed back general election promised for late 2015, saying that election must come with a new constitution and eleven reform areas. Therefore he can stretch election into 2016 or 2017...
The Dictator and his wife have declared a joint worth of 128 million Baht in assets and 654'745 Baht in debt. He said he could not remember the details, but all of the items could be examined and verified. I can justify my personal wealth, he claims.
On May 9th, 2013, the General sold nine plots of land totalling 50 rai located in Bangkok's Bang Bon district to 69 Property Co Ltd. The company has a British Virgin Islands address, was registered just 7 days before the deal and belongs to Thailand's liquor and property billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi.
When Thaksin Shinawatra sold his AIS to Temasek Holdings, a company owned by the Government of Singapore, the very same Bangkok Elite called the deal a foulplay...
Selling assets to a foreign company is a legal way for Thai citizens to avoid paying taxes, but it seems it is a big difference if a member of Bangkok's Elite does the deal or a newcomer from Chiang Mai.
The Junta Leader ordered the media not publishing news about Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Dictator Prayuth Chan-ocha claims that Thaksin Shinawatra violated Thailand's law.

France a step closer to a surveillance state
France's Constitutional Council approved a law giving state intelligence services a lot more scope.
Under the new law, surveillance agencies will be able to use so-called IMSI Catcher, spy devices that record all types of telephone, Internet or text-messaging conversations in an area.
They will also be able to bug suspects' flats with microphones and cameras and add keyloggers to their computers to track every keystroke.

Let's hope the agencies will surveill President Francois Hollande's private but controversial love-life first.
