Thailand introduces a new Visa with a Snag
On November 13th, 2015, Thailand introduces an all new six-month, multiple-entry tourist visas.
The new multiple-entry visa will cost 5'000 Baht and allows unlimited border crossings during the validity period.
The snag:
To prevent foreigners from basically living in Thailand on tourist visas, each entry will be limited to 60 days.
Thai-Cambodian Border Checkpoints closed?
ThaiVisa.com got a large number of unconfirmed reports suggesting that Immigration Officers along the Thai-Cambodian border are no longer allowing Out/In border runs.
The problem seems to be related to allegations made by Thailand's National Police Chief.
Pol Gen Somyot Poompunmuang sent a memorandum titled Report on Behaviours of Immigration Policemen to Thailand's Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Gen Prawit Wongsuwon, deputy prime minister for security.
The memo outlines six common corrupt behaviours of Thailand's Immigration Police.
For additional information please read an Opinion published by Bangkok Post too.
Update:
Military Junta bans foreigner visa runs to borders.

Bayview Hotel for families only?
Visitors inform us that The BAYVIEW Pattaya, a Sukosol Hotel on Pattaya's Beach Road, asks an additional 1000 Baht if a guest brings in an escort, no matter if the escort stays a few hours only or a night.
Some other hotels in Pattaya ask between 100 and 200 Baht/night, but in most hotels in this city a guest stays free.
We call this proceeding of the Bayview Hotel daylight robbery.
WTA Tournament
No Money, No Tennis
From February 8th to 15th, 2015, Pattaya celebrated its 24th Pattaya Open, known as WTA Pattaya or PTT Pattaya Open.
It was the last of its kind in this funny City.
On June 10th, 2015, the WTA Board of Directors relocated its WTA tennis event from Pattaya to Kaohsiung (Taiwan).
The principle sponsors of the PTT Pattaya Open were PTT Public Company Limited, Pattaya City, Sports Authority of Thailand, Chonburi Province, Dusit Thani Pattaya and Chang Drinking Water.
When Mr. Geoffrey Rowe, Tournament Director, stated that the long running support from Pattaya City and Chonburi Province was terminated for 2015 as the local authorities were informed (by the Military Junta) they were no longer allowed to support international sporting events, many of the other sponsors cut their ties too.
Do not invest in Thailand
Since about two decades we are warning our readers not to invest in Thailand.
If you don't trust the recommendation of the Nobodies from Switzerland you should read the report published by BBC (London) at least before spending any money in this country.
The report shows that Police and Lawyers in the Kingdom have no ethics at all. Thailand's law enforcement officers don't do their job properly. They are corrupt and/or incompetent.
Enjoy the beauty of Thailand, its sun, its food and its fun, but keep your wallet closed.
Total Control of Thailand's Internet
Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) still try to implement a single gateway for easy monitoring all internet access channels Bangkok Post and KhaoSod English report.
Thailand's Government calls the single gateway a Hub to avoid any negative association - but to fool its citizens and the world.
The real Face of Prayuth Chan-ocha's Military Junta
Thailand's Military Junta detained Pravit Rojanaphruk, a former journalist with The Nation and a well-known critic of any kind of dictatorship, to adjust his attitude.
Please read how Thailand's Military ill-treated him during detention and learn about the methods employed by Thailand's ruling Military Junta to silent opponents:
The story was published by The Nation and The Diplomat, among others.
Thailand's Dictator will attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York and will speak to the General Assembly on September 29th, 2015.
Human Rights Watch called on world leaders at the UN General Assembly to urge General Prayuth Chan-ocha to end "repression of human rights" and quickly restore democratic civilian rule.
Update (September 27th):
In the US General Prayuth Chan-ocha tells that We have to build a democracy that is stable and sustainable but at home his henchmen are trying to intimidate his critics and their families:
Read what victims of the General's handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) told Bangkok Post about the inhuman methods used by Officials of Thailand's Army during the interrogations.
Education à la Thai Army
Just another example that shows that Thailand desperately needs the Social Media to control its Army, the Army's Military Junta and the Junta's Leader to prevent additional harm to the already battled country.

Jet Ski Scam
Don't run Jet Skis
The Indian Embassy in Bangkok is warning its nationals to beware renting jet skis in Pattaya and other beach resorts due to continuing extortion scams and threats of violence.
On March 26th, 2015 Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome told Bangkok Post:We believe that the jet ski scam will be solved within the next two months.
Nothing ever happened. Mr. Itthiphol is and remains Pattaya's Master of Bla Bla.
For more information about the Jet Ski warning please read the report published by Bangkok Post.
Update:
On September 11th, 2015, Pattaya Mail reports that Pattaya officials try talking out jet ski problem...
Update:
On September 11th, 2015, Officers from Bangkok's Crime Suppression Division, Marine Police, Tourism Police and Pattaya City Police Station ordered Pattaya's Jet Ski Mafia to end scam tourists, Khaosud english reports.
On September 11th & 12th Bangkok Post, Pattaya One and Pattaya Daily News reported about the new 'crackdown effort' too.
Authorities have announced numerous 'crackdowns' on the extortion scheme. No concrete results were ever achieved, Khaosud concludes.
The Boss is always right
Thailand's Dictator is always right
On August 31st Thailand's Military Junta Leader General Prayuth Chan-ocha told the press that Thailand's Police arrested the key suspect for the August 17 Erawan Shrine bombing.
On September 1st Police spokesman Pol Gen Prawut Thavornsiri said that the man arrested in Sa Kaew province is an important suspect in the deadly bomb blast in Bangkok last month - but it is too soon to say if the suspect in detention is bomber.
Obviously Thailand's fast speaking Dictator never heard of the internationally recognized principle of presumption of innocence...
Update (September 4th):
DNA probe shows arrested man not the bomber...
Police News
Careless Investigation
Khunying Porntip Rojanasunan, director-general of the Central Institute of Forensic Science, told a Koh Samui court today, that DNA found on the weapon allegedly used to kill two British backpackers on Koh Tao last year does not match that of either of the Myanmar men on trial for their murders.
The lady also told the court that police treated the murder scene carelessly, destroyed evidence.
For more information please read the Report published by Bangkok Post.
Bangkok Bombing:
Nothing else but Inconsistencies
A member the police investigative team claims that the second suspect had been apprehended inside Cambodia during Monday, August 31st. He was on the way to Phnom Penh.
On Tuesday, September 1st, Pol Lt Gen Prawut told the press the suspect had been apprehended in Thailand at 11:00 today when trying to sneak into Cambodia.
This seemes to be the way Thailand's Police Organisations are working...
For more information please read the Report published by Bangkok Post.
The Boss is always right
Thailand's Police Chief is always right
Just a day after Thailand's media questioned the Competency of Thailand's high-profile criminal investigation the Police reported the first arrest of a first suspect in the bombing of the Erawan Shrine.
But when journalists asked outgoing Police Chief General Somyot Pumpanmuang if the arrested man was a scapegoat, he reacted angrily and asked the reporter are you Thai? Get out of here!

The Holes are Back again
The Result of Brainless Working
In our May 2015 Newsflash as well in our July 2015 publication we reported about the unremitting efforts of Pattaya's Professionals to close some holes on Naklua's Soi Potisarn.
Today we have the honor (or horror) to report the comeback of the holes.
Pattaya's highly educated Professionals are obviously not able to use their brains.
Update September 8th, 2015:
Today workers from City Hall filled up the holes with tar, i.e. same procedure as all the months before.
Neighbours are betting how long it will take until the hole(s) reappear: 4, 6 or 8 weeks...
Update September 20th, 2015:
The holes are already back.
It's just what happens around this City if some people believe to be highly skilled professionals.
Ride a Bicyle in Pattaya
During his second election campaign Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome announced to transform the city into a bicycle friendly place. Nothing ever happened.

On August 5th, 2015, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reported that Thailand's visitor arrivals count surged by one million in only ten days with the arrival of the country's 20 millionth visitor today. This indicated that the widely projected temporary downturn in arrivals following the August 17th attack in Bangkok had failed to materialise, TAT claims.
We don't know how the TAT generates the numbers but fact is that at North Pattaya's CentralCenter (BigC) 8 (eight!) large and about 10 (ten!) small shop are completely empty. At all the other once popular outlets the vendors are waiting for customers.
CentralCenter isn't an isolated case: CentralFestival, Royal Garden Plaza as well the Shopping Centers from Tesco/Lotus and BigC present a similar picture as do all of Pattaya's shopping streets, including Pattaya's Second, Third and Central Road as well as the Beach Roads in Pattaya and Jomtien.
Since 1985 I never encountered this City in such a desolated state.
According to a report publshed by Bangkok Post consumer confidence plummet again and is hitting a 15-month low...
If tourists would 'flooding' this country, as TAT reports, everybody would have work and money - and a lot less time for criminal activities.
On September 11th The Nation reports that The Tourism Council of Thailand now expects 30 million international tourist arrivals this year, up from its original projection of 28.8 million...
On September 22nd Bangkok Post published an interesting report. The report shows that, according to numbers published by Thailand's Tourism Department, the numbers of tourists visiting Thailand climbed by 30%. The lovely tourists also spent 31.96% more than a year ago, Thailand's Tourism Department claims. On the other hand the average occupancy rate in Bangkok is estimated at 50-55% this month, down from 60-65% last September, Bangkok's shopping centers show the very same misery you can see in Pattaya: A lot of stores are closed...

Thailand's fattening foods
Thailand's fattening foods
During December 2014 Thailand's Military Junta Leader Prayuth Chan-ocha told his compatriots eat rice, not bread!
Obviously Thailand's strong man doesn't know that rice contains three times as much calories as potatos.
The result you can see daily on Pattaya's Beach Promenade and the city's Walking Street.
Thailand's obesity is housemade. Nobody can blame KFC, McDonald's & Co. Most of the ladies are upcountry girls, living far away from any fast food outlet and usually do not have the money to buy the chains overpriced food.
The problem is Thai rice - as well as the cooking oil most Thai families are using.
Thai rice contains a lot of sugar, more than any other rice in this world. Therefore Thai rice is also responsible for the alarming rise of diabetics in this country.
Since a few years Thais buy Soy Bean Oil instead of Peanut Oil, their former preference, to prepare their food. Soy Bean Oil is currently Thailand's cheapest oil, but recently published investigations show that Soy Bean Oil is a real fattener.
If he really loves his underlings, Junta Leader Prayuth Chan-ocha should promote potatoes and the use of a higher quality cooking oil.
Thailand's new Soft Drinks
Mineral Water
Mineral Water is still your body's best friend
Since a few months Thailand's Soft Drink manufacturers are glutting the market with new products.
According to the manufacturers the new drinks contain less shugar.
It's nothing than a myth!
The new drinks contain 4.8% to about 6% sugar only, but the manufacturers are adding 2 to 6% Corn Syrup to sweeten the drinks.
When used in moderation Corn Syrup is a major cause of heart disease, obesity, cancer, dementia, liver failure, tooth decay, and more.
High fructose Corn Syrup is an industrial food product and far from natural or a naturally occurring substance.
Dr. Robert Lustig, Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of California, even claims that recent research shows that Corn Syrup is more toxic than refined table sugar.
Scientist recommend that if you are drinking soft drinks containing Corn Syrup, you should test your blood sugar levels regulary.
Wheelchair Path still blocked!
On Soi Phaniatchang, also known as Soi Yume or Soi Carrefour, City Hall spent 3 million Baht for a wheelchair path. Pattaya's large-hearted road users are happy to block the path with their vehicles and say thank you for the new parking lane.
It seems that nobody takes care of the about 850 students from the Soi's Redemptorist Vocational School - not even our lazy police. They close the eyes.
PS: On September 28th Officials from City Hall inspected the area. They discovered that people drive their vehicles to fast in this small Soi and (as documented on this website since September 2014) are parking cars and motorcycles on the wheelchair way. Pattaya's Officials urge the people not to be selfish...
Update: On October 21st Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Aegasing paid a visit to the area and saw himself that irresponsible people are obstructing the stretch.
Therefore the lovely Deputy Mayor arranged a meeting for October 24th to discuss the matter...
Nothing than empty words from Pattaya's Officials!
Obviously the 3 million Baht weren't spend to help the Handicapped,
but to fill up someone's pocket...

Thailand's Military Junta has authorised internet providers in Thailand to shut down any websites with content that threatens the national security or violates Section 112 (also known as lese majeste) "in 30 seconds" without seeking approval from any authority.
The move is seen in response to a lack of cooperation by foreign media companies in removing content the Thai government finds offensive. For example, 2014 Google did not remove any content requested by Thailand's Military Junta.

The Dictator and his wife have declared a joint worth of 128 million Baht in assets and 654'745 Baht in debt. He said he could not remember the details, but all of the items could be examined and verified. I can justify my personal wealth, he claims.
On May 9th, 2013, the General sold nine plots of land totalling 50 rai located in Bangkok's Bang Bon district to 69 Property Co Ltd. The company has a British Virgin Islands address, was registered just 7 days before the deal and belongs to Thailand's liquor and property billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi.
When Thaksin Shinawatra sold his AIS to Temasek Holdings, a company owned by the Government of Singapore, the very same Bangkok Elite called the deal a foulplay...
Selling assets to a foreign company is a legal way for Thai citizens to avoid paying taxes, but it seems it is a big difference if a member of Bangkok's Elite does the deal or a newcomer from Chiang Mai.
The Junta Leader ordered the media not publishing news about Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Dictator Prayuth Chan-ocha claims that Thaksin Shinawatra violated Thailand's law.
