Military Junta exposed
On Saturday July 16th, the voters' lists on a notice board at a referendum polling unit inside Wachirasan Sueksa School in tambon Salokbat of Khanu Woralaksaburi district, Kamphaeng Phet, were pulled down and destroyed by unidentified person. Thailand's Military Junta quickly pointed its finger to vote no campaigners for the August 7th referendum on the draft constitution.
On Tuesday Kamphaeng Phet police chief Damrong Petchpong revealed that an investigation concluded that two eight-year-old girls who were running around at the polling unit had pulled down the lists from the board and ripped them into pieces without knowing they were an official property.
The Military Junta already planned to charge the offenders with breaking two sections of the referendum law. Section 57 on obstructing the operations of election offcials carries a jail term up to one year or a fine not more than 20,000 baht, or both. Section 61(1) on deliberately creating unrest carries a jail term up to 10 years and a fine not more than 200,000 baht, plus the possibility of having the voting right suspended for not more than five years.
On Saturday Thailand's Interior Ministry instructed all provincial election committees to file a complaint with police to bring the offender to justice...
Under an order signed by Pol Lt Gen Chanasit Wathanawarangkura, the Provincial Police Region 6 commissioner, Pol Col Itthi Chamnanmor, chief of the Khanu Woralaksaburi district police, was transferred to the Region 6's police operations centre, effective from July 18th for failing to report the tearing of lists of eligible voters for the Aug 7 charter referendum by two eight-year-old girls to superiors...

Missing Words
A report published by Bangkok Post shows how two simple - but important - words in the Junta's new Constitution can wreck Thailand's greatest and most important achievement: The 30-Baht Scheme, Thailand's unique Health Programme.
Missing Reality
Gabriel Garcia Marquez claims that almost all Dictators (and their accomplices) are losing the contact with reality.
Thailand's Tourism Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul claims that tourists don't come to Thailand because of the country's sex industry. They come here for our beautiful culture, she says.

It's your very own fault if you trust the empty promises of Socialist Politicians.

Military Junta wastes 600 Million Baht
Thailand's Military Junta spent more than 600 million Baht in a campaign leading up to Thailand's defeat in the race for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
Despite the huge sum spent, General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) attracted the support of only 55 countries against 138 for Kazakhstan.

Incredibly Thai Police
Bribery List
On June 8th we reported that Officers from Thailand's Ministry of Interior Affairs raided Nataree Entertainment, a Massage Parlour on Bangkok's Ratchadapisek Road.
They found a large Bribery List with names of different Police units and individuals and the exact amount they were bribed by the brothel.
After the discovery of the Bribery List Deputy Police Spokesman Maj-General Piyapan Pingmuang promised the media that the case should become clearer by next week.
Since that statement we didn't hear any news concerning the Bribery scandal.
A usual procedure within Thailand's Police Agencies and the Thai media too. They never remind officials about their promises or ask officials for some results.
Update (July 18th):
Since June 8th we are waiting for the promised facts. At least at the moment it seems that Bangkok's Police is protecting its black sheeps - or its whole organisation is already black...

Important Notice
Since General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his Military Junta launched their Coup d'état on May 22nd, 2014, Thailand's Visa ground rules are constantly changing. More over, not every consulate can issue all the different Visas. Some smaller consulates even display notices to the effect that non-immigrant visas are unavailable.
Our advice: Before booking your holidays please contact the Embassy in your country to obtain information about Thailand's latest regulation(s) and check the Chonburi Immigration Website or the website of Thailand's Immigration Police.
Update (March 2016):

Thailand's new immigration policy will take effect on March 20th of this year.

Pol Lt Gen Nathathorn Prousoontorn, chief of the Immigration Bureau, informed the media that between October 2015 and March 2016 Thailand's Immigration deported a total of 486'947 foreigners who overstayed their visas. Another 323'575 foreigners overstaying their visas still remain at large.
If the numbers mentioned above are correct, the Immigration Bureau deported about 2'700 people a day...

City Hall to remove Pattaya's Mobile Kitchens
Pattaya's Mobile Kitchens
Pattaya's Mobile Kitchens annoying Tourists?
Pattaya's new Big Boys claim that street vendors, kitchen side-car motorcycles, the homeless and beggars along the length of Beach Road and Walking Street are long overdue problems that have never been tackled seriously before.
Therefore City Hall decided that municipal officers have to be stationed along the road for fining these people.
City Hall said that all these people are annoying tourists and are harming Pattaya's image.
We do not know one single tourist that execrate Pattaya's mobile kitchens. On the contrary, these kitchens provides cheap and tasty foods to local as well as foreign people and help to control prices at local restaurants.
But the new Boys forget to mention Pattaya's motorcycle taxi drivers and motorcycle rentals occupying public parking lots, Chonburi Governor's stupid and unused Bus Stops, the City's thieving lady boys, robbers, muggers, Walking Street's sex show touts and Beach Promenade's drug dealers.
These people are harming Pattaya's image!.
Take away the mobile kitchens and you take away the character of Pattaya!

The Gluten Free stupidity
Don't let you fool
Gluten
Gluten is a protein composite found in wheat, barley, and rye, among others. Oats do not contain gluten but avenin, a protein similar to gluten.
The most obvious sources of gluten are bread, pasta, breakfast cereals, flour, pastry, pizza bases, cakes and biscuits. Gluten can also be found in processed foods, such as soups, sauces, ready meals and sausages.
The Gluten Scam
Best-selling books tout gluten as the main source of health problems. Movie stars, television personalities and major sports figures all praise the benefits of a gluten-free diet. They all say it makes them feel healthier, stronger and even happier. It's a scam launched and financed by the industry!
Reality is that about 5% of the world's population have a wheat problem, but a few of them only have a problem with gluten.
Almost most of the people having problems with gluten suffer from Celiac disease. Celiac disease occurs in about 1% of the world's population and many of them are HIV positve. It's a proven fact that for those with Celiac disease, gluten is toxic.
The Gluten-free Food is a multibillion-dollar business
But what the industry doesn't tell you is that in excluding gluten, you are also excluding a host of nutrients that keep you out of the doctor's office.
Outgoing Pattaya Mayor
Ittiphol Khunpleum praises his Governorship
Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome
On June 16th the governorship of Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome ended.
Therefore he took the opportunity on June 10th to speech to public officials and private-sector groups.
He claimed that his economic goal was to make Pattaya a city of opportunity that attracts both foreign tourists and investors.
During his term, Pattaya has become a benefit to society with 37 local volunteer groups coordinating with police and authorities to support issues on a 24-hour basis year-round, the former Mayor said and added that Pattaya has become a true green tourism destination with natural attractions such as the beach, mangrove forests and clean public areas.
The former Mayor claims that he managed Pattaya in accordance with HM the King's sufficiency economy principles.
He concluded his speech saying that Pattaya will provide a bright future for all.
He forget to mention that most - if not all - of his projects failed and that both of his terms were a gigantic waste of taxpayers money:

Bill Gates' drooping street cables
After Microsoft founder Bill Gates posted the picture published above on social media of the clutter of overhead power cables in Thailand, the authorities are finally embarking on a 51.7-billion-Baht programme to put 127 kilometres of overhead power lines and cables underground.
During the last few years Pattaya News Flash posted numerous photos documenting Pattaya's infamous cable salad.
We also repeated a few times that during a meeting at the end of March 2012 Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome's Officials from City Hall informed the media they decided that on Wednesday April 11th, 2012 from 09:00. - 16.30, all sectors will have to check their cables.
Unused cable have to be cut off, the officials said.
If a division has more than 10 cables, they must bundle the cables together into one big cable for reason of safety of the people and the traffic, City Hall's new regulation demanded.
As we all know, nothing ever happened to improve the situation.
Don't be too optimistic: The 51.7-billion-Baht programme will be used exclusively in Bangkok.

Perhaps we should urge Bill Gates to pay a visit to Pattaya to document Pattaya's unprecedented Salad de Cables and the Legacy of Itthiphol Khunplome.
