Return to Democracy - the Military way:
You can vote, but you don't will get a new Government.
According to Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam a General Election will definitifely take place next year - but a new Govenment may not be formed by the end of the year.
However, unforeseeable factors could make it unlikely for a new administration to be formed within 2017, because it would take about two months for official election results to be announced after the vote. the Deputy announced.
Due to the Military Junta's new voting and vote-count systems, the political party with the most votes will not be guaranteed to form the government. The one that fails to get the most votes may succeed, he said and added that the Military Junta's road map to return to demoocracy will be followed but there may be some factors that cannot be seen today. There could be some changes or adjustments...

The rats are back on Pattaya Beach and our Officials from City Hall close their eyes.
According to a report published by Pattaya Mail on March 11th, the City already launched a new offensive on beachfront rats.
It seems the 'offensive' was launched for publicity only. The rats still enjoy a happy life on Pattaya's Beach and its Promenade...
On September 2nd Pattaya City announced a new campaign to wipe out our lovely Beach Rats, this time using an alternative and non-toxic way. Our authorities placed over 50 wire cages along Pattaya Beach. To avoid unpleasant sighting by tourists visiting the beaches, they placed the cages during night hours only.
But on September 30th the City's Disease Control Department workers once again distributed poison to the chair and umbrella vendors to keep their areas free of rats.
As expected the much touted wire cages campaign was a complete failure, but not for the supplier of the cages...

Pattaya is Mourning
Walking Street on October 13th at about 21:30
When Thailand's media on October 13th at 18:00 reported the death of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the life in Pattaya came to a standstill.
The Bars and Clubs in this town closed down and Pattaya's citizens let their tears run wild. Suddenly Fun City was in the dark.
The Prime Miniter’s Office announced that Government Agencies nationwide were ordered to fly half-mast for 30 days following His Majesty the King’s death and urged all sectors in the society to refrain from holding entertainment activities for one month.
On October 15th the first bars on Walking Street reopened but remaind in the dark without music. Pattaya was a very quiet place.
On October 17th Thailand's Interior Ministry announced that, Bars, Pubs and Clubs can operate normally as long as nobody passing by can see or hear what is going on.
The announcement changed the pictures of Walking Street immediately. The lights came back as well as the ladies. But the dominant color of the beauties' clothes was black, even in the Go-Go Clubs. Walking Street's open-air noisemakers reopened but without musicians.

Arrivals, income up despite crackdown on illegal practices
Thailand's Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul claimed on November 4th, that international arrivals increased by 13 per cent year on year during the third quarter, while income climbed 12 per cent in the same period.
The overall industry in fact continued to grow strongly in both the international and domestic markets, even though the government had seriously cracked down on illegal tourism practices and the management of a number of attractions, the lovely lady said.
We don't know where she got the numbers from, but fact is that Pattaya, its hotels, shops, restaurants and beaches as well as its entertainment industry and its servicegirls are badly missing international and national visitors.
Interesting: On November 13th THAI Airways International president Charamporn Jotikasthira confirmed that its Chinese market dropped 25 per cent over the last few months...
Perhaps the Chinese tourists from Thailand's Tourism and Sports Ministry travel on foot.
The number of Chinese tourists entering Thailand per day via the airport dropped to 4'000 from 13'000 in August
Therefore three Thai-registered airlines are experiencing a financial crunch after their operations were severely affected by a sharp drop in Chinese tourists, the Bangkok Post writes.
