Enjoy Pattaya's empty beaches!

Includes the Pattaya Walk & Eat Festival on Pattaya Beach Road

Prepare for closed offices and traffic jam in congested roads
On September 29th the military-backed government has officialy extended Thailand’s state of emergency for a sixth time, to the end of October. The emergency imposed late March gives Thailand's Prime Minister, Dictator, Songwriter and a man of many words Prayut Chan-o-cha sweeping powers, including a ban on large gatherings that prevents anti-government protests. The latest extension is a consolidation of power, and an unnecessary use of power, said Anusorn Iamsa-ard, a spokesman for Pheu Thai, the largest opposition party. But Thailand’s Deputy Premier Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon, the man of 'borrowed' luxury watches, claims fear of a second wave of infections, and not politics, is behind the government’s need to extend the emergency decree. The government is being cautious about a possible second wave of Covid-19 infections, he added.
THAI ENQUIRER: Thailand will be unlivable if protestors topple me, Prayut says Never been convicted of a crime but want to know how it feels to be out with a bracelet? Come to Thailand as a tourist. Thailand's Dictator Prayut Chan-o-cha wants that each and every tourist wears a wrist band with GPS tracker to follow you wherever you want. On Koh Samui, tourists’ movements will be monitored by the more than 1,000 CCTV cameras installed around the island - same for Phuket. Better stay home!
Thailand's distressed Dictator Prayut Chan-o-cha misuse his emergency decree to combat protests in Bangkok and to muzzle the media! Prayut & Co. are cheating Thailand's citizens!
The many 'Royal Supporters' in yellow shirts on Bangkok streets allegedly supporting the institution are in reality security officers, Thailand's media report. Their haircuts and their busses betrayed them ...
Thai Army vs Twitter
On October 9th Facebook and Twitter announced that they have taken down more than 900 Twitter accounts linked to the Royal Thai Army. These accounts were engaging in amplifying pro-RTA and pro-government content, as well as engaging in behaviour targeting prominent political opposition figures, Twitter said in a blog post. Despite clear evidence, Deputy Army Spokeswoman Sirichan Ngathong denied the allegations on the same day. It is now known that not only the Thai Army has misused Twitter to publish misleading or even false information, but also the regime under Dictator Prayut Chan-o-cha has denigrated opposition members via social media.

New VISA Extension
On September 29th the military-backed government has announced a new VISA Extension for stranded foreigners until October 31st. The Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), had to point out a few times to the obviously 'brain amputated' General(s) the stupidity of kicking out spending foreigners while the borders remained closed to all but 1'200 new, long-stay tourists a month under the new Special Tourist Visa. According to the TCC, Chiang Mai alone has 10'000 foreigners residing there who are contributing to a depressed local economy. Chamber Chairman Kalin Sarasin said that the government’s uncompromising stance toward foreigners made no sense, given both the recession gripping Thailand and the coronavirus pandemic raging abroad.

Stupidity is moving ahead again
Under Ithiphol Kunplome millions of Baht ended in rust
After the Bali Hai Yacht Port project of the former mayor of Pattaya disintegrated into rust, his brother Sonthaya Kunplome, the current mayor of this funny city, launched a new 2.9 billion Baht mega-project for the Bali Hai area with a cruise terminal and an administrative building at the head of the port. In the new drawings, which were shown to a selected audience only, the very controversial and now bankrupt Waterfront ruin is integrated into the Bali Hai Yacht Port as a new eyesore. Like their late father, the legendary Godfather of Chonburi, his sons seem to be regaled on useless multi million-dollar projects.
At a Pattaya City meeting on September 27th Pattaya City delivered an ultimatum to the owners of the Waterfront Condo on Bali Hai: Tear it down, soon, or we will and bill you. Nevertheless, the eyesore is integrated in the new mega-project mentioned above ...

The Sleepy Airport
U-Tapao Airport, officially called U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport to hide the fact that it is in reality a military airport, offers a few flights only from and to Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Phuket and Udon Thani. At the time of writing, the flights are operated by AirAsia and Thai Lion.
Stinky Tap Water in Pattaya
Since a few days Pattaya's highly professional Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) delivers (again) dirty tap water to houses, residences, hotels and restaurants in some parts of this World Class City. The water smells like fecal matter, but obviously nobody cares.
A Chemist told us: Do not use Pattaya's water to clean your teeth. Be careful and use Drinking Water when cleaning wounds and/or genitals. Nevertheless, Pattaya's tap water is still less contaminated than the sea in front of this World Class Beach Resort ...
Our Officials destroy the 'Good Image' of Pattaya - nobody else.

Outbreak of Dengue Fever
There have been 61'662 cases of dengue fever in Thailand with 41 deaths in the first 9½ months of this year. While Thailand seems to have the corona virus under control, the situation with dengue fever, another viral disease, is extremely worrying in the Kingdom. Thailand's Public Health Officials advise people to make sure that there is no standing water around their homes, as this is a breeding ground for mosquitoes carrying the dengue virus.
October 11th: Mae Hong Son province in northern Thailand has reported the highest incidence by far with nearly 500 per 100'000 population. This is followed by Rayong, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum and Chainat provinces.
Another dangerous virus in this area is the Chikungunya virus. It is spread to people by the bite of an infected mosquito. The most common symptoms of infection are fever and joint pain. Other symptoms may include headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, or rash. The Chikungunya virus was found for the first time in the Americas on islands in the Caribbean in late 2013. The virus was imported by infected travellers into new areas such as Thailand. Currently there is no vaccine for prevention or medication to treat a Chikungunya virus infection.
October 11th: Health officials in Thailand are reporting 9'486 chikungunya cases in 72 provinces through October 5th. No deaths have been reported so far.
Measles is a highly contagious infectious disease caused by measles virus. Symptoms usually develop 10–12 days after exposure to an infected person and last 7–10 days. Initial symptoms typically include fever, often greater than 40°C, cough, runny nose, and inflamed eyes. Small white spots may form inside the mouth two or three days after the start of symptoms. A red, flat rash which usually starts on the face and then spreads to the rest of the body typically begins three to five days after the start of symptoms. Measles is an airborne disease which spreads easily from one person to the next through the coughs and sneezes of infected people. No specific treatment is available but the measles vaccine is effective at preventing the disease and is exceptionally safe. Through May 2nd, Thailand has seen 765 measles cases in 55 provinces. Narathiwat, Chiang Rai, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phuket and Chiang Mai have been hardest hit by the measles.
