Emergency Decree
On September 27th, 2021, Thailand's cabinet extended the state of emergency nationwide for two months, until the end of November, allegedly to cope with the local Covid-19 situation.
The extionsion was proposed by the National Security Council (NSC).
The NSC functions as the operations unit of the government's Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration and is supervised by Thailand's Prime Minister, Dictator, Songwriter and the man of many words Prayut Chan-o-cha.
This is the 14th extension of the special law.
The government insistes that the extension is necessary to facilitate the swift and integrated implementation of measures to control Covid-19 for the sake of public safety.
The special law was enacted March 26th, 2020, and gives Prayut Chan-o-cha wide-ranging powers, including a ban on large gatherings to prevent anti-government protests.
Empty words:
Thailand's Dictator likes to talk about the security of and in his country, its citizens and their visitors.
Nothing but empty words. September 24th, 2021
Latest Regulation
As of October 21st
The new rules only apply from November 1st!
As is usual in this country, the new regulations are far from clear and may contain pitfalls.
October 22nd:
In preparation for the first phase of the country's reopening on November 1, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, in his capacity as head of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), ordered to have curfew lifted in 17 provinces, including Bangkok, from October 31st.

TAT news: Test & Go: Quarantine-free Thailand to reopen to vaccinated tourists from November 1st
We are OPEN
Don't be fooled!
Changed Curfew
On October 14th the CCSA meeting has given the green light to reduce curfew time to 23:00-03:00 to help the people and prepare for the re-opening of the country, effective October 16th.
Don't be fooled by all the hype spread by the TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) and other Publications claiming that Thailand opened for Sandbox tourists from any country in the world.
While it is true that the country is shortening the quarantine period for international entrants from October 1st, 2021, it is also a fact that you still need a lot of papers and a Covid 19 insurance to enter Thailand. Also, many businesses (including bars and go-go clubs, discos and Thailand's famous massage parlours) are still closed. Of the country's 155 national parks, only 91 are open to the public and many of them require pre-registration and an officially imposed rip-off of foreigners ....
Furthermore, in many parts of the country, restaurants are prohibited from serving alcohol. Many malls and most hotels are still closed. In many hospitals you will face rip-off prices.
Travellers from low-risk countries can travel to all parts of Thailand after testing negative on arrival, but travellers from medium-risk countries must stay in the blue zones for seven days before travelling to the other parts of Thailand, writes the TAT (Tourist Authority Thailand).
We therefore recommend that you first keep a cool head and read the BBC report on the subject.
Please then check whether your country allows you to re-enter unhindered after a stay in Thailand ....
Official Rip-Off
New Entry Fee to Thailand
If it benefits Thailand, it doesn't count as discrimination
In addition to the already officially imposed double price rip-off in Thai national parks, the government has instructed the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to impose a 500-Baht tax from 2022 to serve as a tourism transformation fund to finance environmental improvements at tourist sites and help the country shift from a mass tourism model to a high-value one.
The previously discussed idea of using this fee to finance hospital bills for unfortunate foreign tourists is no longer mentioned in the new draft.
According to Yuthasak Supasorn, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the country hopes to bring in 5 billion Baht in the first year.

Strange legal interpretation
If it benefits Thailand, it doesn't count as discrimination
On September 28th, 2021, the Administrative Court in Phetchaburi province rejected a lawsuit against dual pricing in Thailand's public hospitals as unconstitutional.
When you read the report publihed by CocoNuts Bangkok you know why you will never win in a Thai court.
Useful Contact Numbers
No Tourists
MPs know not what they do
As long as Thailand is on the red list of many countries, it doesn't matter what rules and regulations Thailand's authorities introduce. The tourists don't come, but these clowns who call themselves MPs still can't grasp that. This shows the world that they are totally incompetent.
The dictator and his officials misunderstand the tourists as much as their own people. They are obtuse, incapable of governing and do not care in the least about the damage they do to the economy.
One example is the numerous PCR tests that the government requires. With tests costing almost 2 times as much as in other countries. It is a government-backed scam. It's all about money, not safety.
In addition, the Thai government is constantly changing its regulations.
The government insists that the changes are necessary to facilitate the rapid and integrated implementation of measures to control Covid-19 in the interest of public safety.
The Thai government and its tourism managers should stop treating tourists as ATMs and cash cows. Treat them with a little respect and let's get rid of the fraud.
Thailand's "highly educated" government still believes that there are millions of tourists who want to enter and quarantine themselves from going out partying at night, going to Go-Go bars and dancings, dining at busy restaurants, going to full moon parties, etc. This shows the world all the stupidity of Thailand's ruling class.

Online scams
Be cautious when buying online
Be careful when you shop online. Shopee and Lazada and the other online shops are full of rogue traders.
Sometimes even the information about a product is wrong. This Fry King product is an ordinary hotplate and not an induction cooker.
The price differences are often particularly large for popular kitchen aids.
Very often, bait-and-switch offers are designed in such a way that a more expensive product is shown in the advertisement, but the price of a cheaper item is listed.

Are we stupid?
Learned nothing
Until 2013, when the then mayor of Pattaya, Itthiphol Khunplome, and his city administration gave the green light for the complete redevelopment of Pattaya's Beach Promendae, all was still well with the world.
Even the high water that brought traffic on Beach Road to a complete standstill could not harm the beach. The sand stayed where it belonged.
This changed abruptly during the construction of Itthiphol's disastrous beach beautification. Every little storm washed tons of sand into the sea, never to be seen again.
The "highly educated" officials kept promising a significant improvement of the situation as soon as the new sewers were in operation. Today we know that even these multi-million investments have brought nothing but new trouble.
Sontoya Khunplome, the current mayor of Pattaya and Itthiphol's elder brother, has reportedly ordered another rebuild of the promenade under pressure from the military junta's multi-billion Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) development plan, of course with the same people who were already involved in the failure of Itthiphol's project.
Already from the published drawings it is obvious to any layman that the new embellishment will bring nothing but a new edition of the already known trouble.
The solution to the problem is as simple as it is ingenious: the integration of the slight elevation towards the sea side, which effectively prevented the sand from being carried away from the beach before 2013.
Dirty Tap Water again
Same procedure as every year!
Despite the fact that Pattaya has virtually no tourists to accommodate this year, the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) finds itself obliged to supply households with dirty and at times smelly tap water for the sixth month this year. In addition, since many weeks the water pressure will be temporarily reduced during the nights.
It is not a new phenomenon, the PWA has not been in control of Pattaya's water supply for decades.
Since 1 August, the water pressure has been reduced at times, even during the day, so that it is hardly possible to take a shower.
How good it is that there are hardly any tourists left in this run-down village.
It seems as if users should be forced to install water tanks. A stupid idea. Because water tanks get dirty, they have to be cleaned again and again and have to be cleared of algae. This ultimately increases water consumption and electricity consumption as well because of the water pumps needed.
Update:
Since October 6th, 13:00, water pressure is back in full force. As expected, dirty water is being supplied in the first few hours, as deposits and algae have formed in the inadequately flushed pipes over the past months.
But just in time for curfew, at exactly 22:00, the pressure is lowered again. Pattaya

Virus Warnings
Dengue Fever
While Thailand seems to have the corona virus under control, the situation with dengue fever, another viral disease, is extremely worrying in the Kingdom, especially during the rainy season.
Thailand's Public Health Officials advise people to make sure that there is no standing water around their homes, as this is a breeding ground for mosquitoes carrying the dengue virus.
Chikungunya
Another dangerous virus in this area is the Chikungunya virus. It is spread to people by the bite of an infected mosquito.
The most common symptoms of infection are fever and joint pain. Other symptoms may include headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, or rash.
The Chikungunya virus was found for the first time in the Americas on islands in the Caribbean in late 2013.
The virus was imported by infected travellers into new areas such as Thailand.
Currently there is no vaccine for prevention or medication to treat a Chikungunya virus infection.
Measles
Measles is a highly contagious infectious disease caused by measles virus.
Symptoms usually develop 10–12 days after exposure to an infected person and last 7–10 days. Initial symptoms typically include fever, often greater than 40°C, cough, runny nose, and inflamed eyes. Small white spots may form inside the mouth two or three days after the start of symptoms. A red, flat rash which usually starts on the face and then spreads to the rest of the body typically begins three to five days after the start of symptoms.
Measles is an airborne disease which spreads easily from one person to the next through the coughs and sneezes of infected people.
No specific treatment is available but the measles vaccine is effective at preventing the disease and is exceptionally safe.
