Useless drug from Pfizer
Another expensive but useless drug from Pfizer
A new study published in The New England Journal of Medicine on April 3th, 2024, shows that Paxlovid, an expensive drug from Pfizer, does not relieve any symptoms.
The drug is approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is also approved in Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union, showing that you should never trust these regulatory bodies.
This is not the first time that this company has marketed completely useless and sometimes even untested and/or dangerous products.

Tourist safety
Tourist safety with traps
Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in collaboration with the National Institute of Emergency Medicine, announced a new medical assistance initiative for foreign tourists worth 50 million baht (approximately USD 1.38 million). The programme aims to boost the safety and confidence of tourists and provides financial assistance in the unfortunate event of accidents, crimes or disasters during their visit, but only for tourists visiting Thailand between January 1st and August 31st, 2024, registered in the so-called Thailand Traveler Safety (TTS) scheme. Non-registered tourists will be left empty-handed.

A Shopping Center changes Naklua
Since the opening of the Terminal 21 shopping mall just over 5 years ago, the face of North Pattaya and especially the neighboring Naklua has been changing in leaps and bounds.
It began with the opening of the futuristic Space Hotel by the Grande Centre Point Hotel Group on Naklua Road and now continues on the opposite side of the road.
Exactly opposite the Space Hotel, the Akara Hotel, which belongs to the Vannaying Group, opened on March 25th after a long history of suffering - mainly due to the pandemic.
The Peace Resort on North Road, which has been well-known for decades and is located directly opposite Terminal 21, is now falling victim to the pickaxe.
From the unsuccessful Wok 'n' Roll restaurant at Roundabout to the Naklua side access road to the Peace Resort ....
.... to Naklua Soi 33, all the buildings are being razed to the ground to make way for a gigantic new hotel project, if rumors are to be believed.
In Naklua Soi 33, all the venues, from the Pit Bull Corner Bar to the well-known Bazi Restaurant and Grottino Pizzera, had to make way for the large-scale project.
But that's not all: a new hotel is also planned for the vacant plot between Soi 33 and the new Akara Hotel, stretching from Naklua Road to Soi 6 off North Road.
The Best Supermarket in front of this large construction site is the only store that is still open. However, it will soon move to a new location on Naklua Road opposite the SUSCO petrol station.
In Naklua Soi 22, directly opposite the Golden Orchidee Restaurant, the Grande Centre Point Hotel Group is building another hotel.

Bali Hai Pier covered!?
In an interview with The Pattaya News on March 21th, 2024, the deputy mayor of Pattaya expressed his confidence that the Bali-Hai pier will get a new roof before Songkran. During our visit a few days ago, however, there was still no sign of a roof, only a few roof supports could be seen where the large ships anchor.
At least the deputy mayor was so careful when making his statement that he did not mention a year.
So let's wait for Songkran 2025 or 2026.
Nevertheless, we will keep you up-to-date.

We hope that all construction work will be completed by then.
New Nightclub
Akira is announced as a new and unique Japanese nightclub on Soi 15, off Walking Street, located in the building that was home to Angelwitch Rock Dancers before the pandemic.
At the time of writing, we have two official opening dates: April 20th, 2024 and May 2nd, 2024.
The information currently available leaves it unclear whether the new nightclub will be a disco or more of an A Go-Go club.
Encapsulated
This is how the former Raas Disco currently presents itself. The venue, which is intended for guests from the Indian subcontinent, is to be given a new, more impressive look.
